Troops of Sector 2, in collaboration with the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji, have neutralized 10 terrorists and rescued 101 kidnapped victims in Katsina and Zamfara states.
The operation, conducted on March 17 and 18, targeted terrorist hideouts, leading to significant breakthroughs in the fight against banditry.
According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi Akwa, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, the troops launched an assault on a terrorist enclave at Pauwa High Ground in Kankara Local Government Area (LGA), Katsina State.
“This resulted in the neutralization of three terrorists and the rescue of 84 kidnapped victims, who have since been handed over to local authorities,” he said.
In Zamfara State, security forces acted on intelligence reports about terrorist activities in Bagabuzu, Faru District of Maradun LGA, eliminating seven terrorists and recovering a motorcycle.
Additionally, 17 kidnapped victims were freed from Tsibiri and Doka villages in Shinkafi LGA and are currently receiving medical attention.
Operation Hadarin Daji urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies in the fight against terrorism in the region.
